When I received a called for a “surprise wedding” I found myself wondering how that could be…“Does the bride knows the groom? What about the dress? And the guests? Do they know anything about it?” But my final thought was “That must be cool!”. For me, the surprise started when the client, “mother of the bride”, told me: “…and the event is going to be in two days, this weekend. Are you available?” I actually was, and got excited to figure out what surprise wedding meant and, to meet such sweet – made for each other – couple.
They met thru a common friend. Was love at first sight when he saw this beautiful brunette with a bright smile, ten years ago. Two years after they were at the City Hall becoming “husband and wife”. Time went by, their love got stronger and the wish for a big wedding celebration with family and friends were always there.
Last Sunday they saw their dream come true. Erika’s mom and dad managed to plan an awesome party, celebrating their love and commitment. They got to the hotel thinking they were there for a friend’s secret birthday, when a key for the “bridal suite” gave them the tip that something really cool was about to happen. Yay! The next minute, a makeup artist arrived, a wedding dress and black suit got delivered, people started to show all dressed up, and, of course, I was blessed to be there to capture moments of an unforgettable day. The rest is history, but I could also call it “a fairy tale”.
Erika & Renato, may you have many more blessings and good surprises in your life! Thanks for allowing me to be part of that day!
