No umbrellas allowed unless they look good in the picture!…
Irene – the hurricane – was coming and I had to cancel a session, which I don’t like. I was all ready, million ideas in mind, and having to execute them another day was just not fun for me. I wanted to do it that day, that afternoon! Beautiful location arranged, makeup schedule for the client, all batteries charged. Oh yeah, Irene, I was mad at you.
But, as I believe, God knows best. At my end, I was in charge of having a plan B.
Irene on her way, out there pouring rain, and I’m at my desk, editing, with my window open. I like how the rain smells and sounds. Than, it clicked. In the minute I’ve stopped to sit by the window, and “study” if was a good idea to get out with Joy to enjoy a rain shower, I remembered some images I had in mind. Capture the rain in pictures, my way!
Next thing I know, my pregnant friend was knocking at my door. “Let’s do it!”, she said. I could not be more excited. She didn’t want pictures taken during her whole belly growing, and now, she was up to my “cobaia” adventure. I don’t know who is the craziest, me or her, but we did had fun; including laughing at her hubby holding a patio size umbrella to help me cover my equipment. Poor Cacazinho!
I wish it was raining heavier, I wish I had captured it perfectly; but I’m thankful for having one more little dream coming true! And giving my friend a special, unique gift. Memories of her wet belly.
ALINE, Thanks for trusting. I like you better than IRENE! ;.)
This experience made me “see” the rain in a completely different perspective. A beautiful one.
