Alguns meses atrás foi a vez da mamãe ser a “estrela” e se divertir com muitas fotos in-studio and outdoors…

When I was pregnant almost six years ago, six other friends of mine were pregnant too. It was a great fun experience. We didn’t planned but boom! “We drank the same water”! Imagine how much seven pregnant ladies had to share! Our expectations… Baby names, nursery colors, the latest “baby trends”, and of course, all the cravings!
We then met every week at another friend’s house. She was not preggo at the time, but because of her we were taken care of. With the promise that she was planning a baby for the next year, and wanting to live together all our crazy stories and laughter, she cooked for us with a smile on her face. Every week. From all kind of soups – chili included – to the most amazing brazilian recipes. (okay. I blame her all 50lbs I gained during pregnancy! haha)
“Baby next year” came four years later; and now is her time. Time for her to feel the kicks from within instead of only touching a friend’s big belly. Time for her to fold little clothes, choose a pastel color for the nursery walls, buy tons of moisturized wipes. Time for her to dream about the day she will finally see his perfect little face. Time for her to hold the breath and get ready for the most amazing journey of a woman. The time of her life. And I am glad, happy, excited to see these moments unfolding!
Well, I won’t promise I will cook for her – she better off without it anyway! – but I will promise I will be here.

Today she’s turning 11 and I am pretty sure this is what her mom is going to be doing all day: Hugging and Kissing her beautiful “Big Little Girl”!

When I met Lendonna – aka DeeDee – I knew she was a woman from God just by the way she spoke. It was the first time someone mentioned the choice of picking me as the photographer for an Engagement Session; not only because of the quality of my work, but also, because we had the same faith and believed in the same thing: “Marriage is a blessing from the Lord, and that union should last forever.” I was so glad to hear such a thing; and, even happier when I learned the shoot would take place at the beach where they wanted to incorporate the Bible as a “prop”. After all, “DeeDee and Roby are connected by the One who loved them first”, and that story, we can only find in one book: “The Word of God”.

I’m so happy to post the pictures from this session. Not only because of the beautiful images, but for the meaning of it. Every year, this couple celebrates their anniversary with a photo shoot (see last years post here) as a way to cherish their happiness of one more year together. I could not be any happier. Nowadays, with so many saying that “the institution of marriage is dead”, we still believe in it; we still believe in the power of it. I’m glad I took part at Jana & Edgar’s 3year Anniversary Celebration. May God bless their love; may it be forever! And hey, it looks like I will have loyal clients for many years to come! yay!
