Couple days ago it was my pleasure to capture a reunion of seven friends that got together to “Celebrate Life”, with a “Girls Night Out” in Boston. The pictures are coming up soon on a post, but I had to share a sneak peak, before my phone starts to ring…

I take lots of pictures of my daughter . I mean it! Tons! Because of her, I ended up buying my first professional camera. The excitement of documenting every moment of our new “baby” was in, and that’s what I did. Doing that, I was also sharpening my skills during the transition from graphic designer to full time photographer, using her as a model for my crazy setups; trying out new locations; and pretending I was on a fashion shoot for a kids magazine, which God willing – pray for me – I will have an opportunity of doing someday.
But time goes by and a busy schedule takes away the best on us. Takes away our ability to see beauty in the simple. Takes me to the point I noticed taking less and less pictures of the little person I love unconditionally. A big deal for me, a believer that “a photo can freeze a moment that we want to cherish forever”; and yes, like the song, “I don’t want to miss a thing…”.
Life is made of choices, and today I choose to appreciate the way Joy wakes up in the morning. With her pink blanket, in her pink polka dot pajama, always smiling and saying: “It’s time to get up! The sun is shinning!”.

That doesn’t happen often. I had today’s post ready yesterday, uploaded and scheduled to go online at 8am. But, of course, like everything in my life, things had to change last minute. This time, for a good reason.
Every July 20th, back in Brazil, I used to write little notes to my friends. I don’t know if internationally, but at least there, we celebrate “Friendship Day”, and was very important for me to remind them that they had a place in my heart. I wanted my crazy drawings to make a different in their day, and in the years, I was also blessed with cards, notes, emails. I’d say that Love and Laugh is contagious. Telling a person I love, I care, I miss her, is something I like doing. That could make me annoying sometimes, but I don’t miss the chance of forgetting people that bring joy to my heart.
Today, as I celebrate “Friend’s Day”, and had to rush to find images – didn’t have the time to design new ones – and put a special post together, I was able to read these quotes and be thankful for you. Sorry if I’m not the perfect friend (Jesus is!), if I’m not present all the time (Jesus is!), but count on me (and in Jesus too!), as always. And let’s go for some ice cream! ;.)

I LOVE this!!! Absolutely love it!
Kelly foi uma das minhas primeiras clientes. Sem muito me conhecer, confiou a mim a tarefa de fotografar o aniversário de 1 Aninho de seu filho, Joaquim. Depois disso, já se passaram mais aniversários e muitos portraits… sessões de Outono, Natal and “just because” incluídos. Quando Kelly me ligou pra contar da novidade de mais um baby a caminho, fiquei toda feliz e me senti privilegiada por registrar essa fase tão linda. Dessa vez, uma baby girl estava a caminho!
Para a Maternity Session, Kelly escolheu como cenário praia, late hours; e apesar dos milhões de mosquitos que nos “atacaram”, o resultado valeu a pena. O céu estava um espetaculo, a água quentinha, e mais importante de tudo, a “mamãe” radiante e linda.
