Andrezza | In-Studio Maternity Session

The good feeling when clients trust us to help them to preserve memories of special moments in their life is priceless. When Andrezza was only three months pregnant, and called me to share the news about a new baby I was very excited. By now, I had already shot their wedding, the “big bro’s” few birthday parties, and the phone call also was to ask if I was available to shoot her Maternity Session, few months ahead. How awesome? They are clients, friends and also fellow .

The time finally came and she was looking for something clean and intimate, so I decided not using props, but focusing on capturing this family’s sweet love, flowing by the expectation of a “new princess in the house”; the “little sis” that will change their lives forever.

They will need piles of diapers, lots of “pinks, crowns and feathers”, but not worry about spending, what matters most they already have and that, for sure, as the quote I love, “money can’t buy”.

Andrezza, Norman and Nick, Thanks for one more time letting me be part of a magical moment. Can’t wait to meet baby Ava Grace!

Toda Paula Fernandes é linda. Todas as que conheço, sonhadoras. Essa, acabou de completar 13 aninhos – acreditem se quiser!
E como toda adolescente, sonhava em um dia achar sua foto estampada em capa de revista. Bem, eu estava no Rio, com minha câmera, e o desejo de fazer um sonho realidade, “a la Beria”. Here it is pretty girl! :.)

Unplanned – Blessed! – Family Pictures

This was my Easter gift! Right before going to church last Sunday, quick minutes of rare pictures together that filled my heart with gratefulness. We were happy; we were matching; we were making memories. I captured sweet images of my loved ones; Joy captured mom and dad laughing, holding hands, loving each other. All unplanned; all perfect. All I needed.

May family always be our safe haven :.)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer.29:11)”

Grace that warms the soul

You know those cold winter days when we awake in the thought that “summer will come never”, making us wanting to be back to bed and sleep like bears hibernating through the first day of Spring, at least? I had a lot of those. So many that made me sick and blue; taking from me the pleasure of doing things I loved most, as “to photograph”. I was so worried about the cold that I ended up “cold”. My creative vision was cold; my smile was cold. I just wanted to sleep, then stopped seeing the beauty within the simple and amazing demonstration of love God makes me see everyday. I didn’t want to see “any pretty in the ugly winter days”. I forgot about the Creator. But , who am I again?

By His grace, in one of the cold mornings, reading my devotional book, I was reminded how small I am: “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14)” That cheered my heart instantly. It felt like God, again, whispered to me that, despite the weather, the changing moods, the circumstances, He’s a lovely father that prepares lots of surprises for me, the little mist, too see. What a privilege!

These following images are from that morning. I got to finally leave the home and went to a place I love for a few minutes. There I prayed.
And I remembered that snow melts. Remember some of my favorite quotes. Remember that the Lord is the one who warms my soul.

Luiza and Cleber | “A Blessed Wedding” | Boston Creative Photographer

They met at church and I can call it a match made in heaven. Friends who felt in love. She’s goofy and talkative. He, introverted, but the funny guy that wispers something, makes you laugh out loud while he quietly keeps the pose. They’re both fashion forward, which made them the “perfect models” on their Engament Session. Her voice is stunning; God given. She uses the talent to praise Him. He is an avid Bible student who knows “a little more than that Noah built the Ark”. Well, the beauty in this all is, they’re both serve the Lord who turned their lives around when it seemed hopeless, and gave each other to cherish.
Is my pleasure to call them my friends, and although I missed walking around in a pretty dress and colorful “bridesmaids pumps”, it was a no brainer swapping the tasks and being their photographer instead. What a privilege!

Luiza and Cleber opted for an intimate affair for their closest family and friends, but the night was full of special moments. The ceremony was perfect. From the brother-of-the-groom opening the celebrations bringing “The Life’s Guide” – the Holy Bible to the pastor; to the father shredding a tear giving away her youngest daughter; the unforgettable words in the sermon; the adorable Bride’s baby niece carrying the cute pillow of rings; and of course, more tears – me included – when the vows were exchanged.
The reception, which took place at the same elegant red room at the Hawthorne Hotel Salem, was also memorable. What to miss when you are in a beautiful place, with delicious food (yes, I still remember the dessert!) and yummy cupcakes, surrounded by your friends having fun in one of the most important days of your life? Nothing!

Exactly! A complete blessing!

They opted for the “First Look”, when the Bride and Groom see each other before the ceremony and I loved it! I could not wait for the moment when Cleber saw Luiza. We took a little time to work on a few creative portraits and she looked so radiant and confident!
Cleber’s reaction to his bride was so sweet ;.) Gotta love First Looks! This moment of prayer made my heart melt. A bride is usually nervous, worrying about million things, and this makes all the difference.
I get so excited seeing how family members interact at the day of the wedding. Loving and loyalty sisters that support each other is something I’m always impressed. Keyla and Silvia, looking cute, where there for the baby sister. The only nephew, all shy, came for a big “antie hug” and tried to avoid the camera. The father-of-the-Bride, was overflowing with Joy and enjoying the last minutes before walking the aisle.
Same strong family bond at the groom’s side. Even with most members living across the ocean, they were able to watch it all online and cheer on the only brother close by, in charge of speaking on behalf of them. So emotional and worth witnessing. And there it was, a perfect night for a perfect couple!
Lu and Cleber, I can not thank you enough for the opportunity of playing such an important part on your special day. May God bless your marriage.

Baby Joseph was so curious to see mom and daddy’s Maternity Pictures that he decided to be get out two weeks before his due date to be here witnessing this post today!
Here it is! Worth the wait, baby JJ! Your parents are very special to me, as I was just another day – five years ago – pregnant myself, running around and planning a wedding with your mommy, when she found a man that she called “the love of her life”. Your dad, a friend that drove me crazy “many” times, became, well, a friend that drives me crazy “a few” times. My daughter loves him, which assures me he will be a wonderful father.

You are in good hands. You are a gift from the Lord and mom and dad are a blessing! I hope they cherish these images forever and show them to you someday, so you will see how amazingly you were loved even before they saw your precious little face.

I had a hard time narrowing down my favorite images for this post… so you’re getting cuteness overload today! Baby Benjamin was a blessing to work with, specially being the son of a dear client that I photographed couple times before on important celebrations as her “surprise wedding“, then at her “Hollywood Inspired” Birthday Celebration early this year, when I first learned she was pregnant. It’s such a good feeling when clients enjoy our work and come back. We start knowing each other better and become friends. For that reason, I wanted to offer her nothing less than absolutely beautiful images of her baby boy. I hope I nailed it! ;.)

Again, Congratulations on the arrival of your baby boy. God bless your family. May Benjamin – “Filho da Felicidade” – bring loads of joy, love and smiles to your lives.

We save the best for last, right? Mid fall already and I am posting a summer session. Why?
Gio and Gabi are very special clients that I photograph every season, including a Fall session and a Studio session featured here in the blog. But for this beach shoot we had to wait and hold the pictures until now; and I was craving to share them!!!

This mom-and-daughter is a beautiful thing to watch. A wonderful thing to photograph.
May God keep their love growing everyday.
May Him fulfill the heart of a mother exploding with big plans for her daughter.
May He bless the daughter to be a sunshine for her mother.
May you shine together, laugh together, climb mountains together.

E-Session Lorena & Junior | Boston Creative Photographer

They had the luxury of not having one, but TWO Engagement Sessions! The first one, was on the day he proposed. The excuse he had for asking her to specially dress up and have a photographer coming along – she didn’t know anything about the dinner on the top of a lighthouse and the ring! – was by saying they were headed to a photo shoot. We actually had half an hour and got some pictures done before the proposal. There it was their “first” E-Session; as seen on this post.
But as every girl, she wanted a “real E-Session” with time to plan the location – and the outfits, makeup and hair, of course! – so we scheduled the second shot. And I could not be more happier for the opportunity. We started in Annisquam with they dancing and playing as young lovebirds they are; then was time to change to a glamorous dress as we finished the session around a friend’s house in Rockport, that even had a pond in the back, and the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Simply amazing!

I will be shooting their wedding next month and I can’t wait. I love fashion brides! ;.)

Love is a beautiful thing to photograph. I’m so blessed.
